MEET JOHN
A DEEP CONNECTION TO VERONA COMMUNITY
John and his wife Kim, along with their two daughters, Samantha and Johnna (and an overweight yellow lab named Jake) have lived in Verona for ten years. After the birth of their 2nd child they outgrew their apartment in Jersey City and began an extensive search for a home to raise their family.
After about a year of searching, a featured home listing the New York Times Sunday real estate section brought them to Verona. They toured the home on Westover Road, a home in which 11 children had been raised, had dinner at Belle Gente (linguini with clams) and decided that day that Verona was where they wanted to settle and raise their family.

In the decade since, the entire family has developed a deep connection to this great community.
The girls attend Laning and H.B. Whitehorne and Kim is active in the Laning SCA. Samantha and Johnna are involved in several teams and activities in town such as cheerleading, basketball, girl scouts, soft ball, soccer and lacrosse. John coaches girls lacrosse at the 3rd and 4th grade level, is active in the Memorial Day Parade and Veteran’s Day ceremonies at Laning and town hall and is an financial supporter of the Rescue Squad.
Recently, John opened a business in Verona on Bloomfield Ave and is now part of the local business community. John is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he earned a degree in Environmental Engineering. He is also a graduate of the University of Missouri where he earned a Master’s degree in the same discipline. Kim is a graduate of St John’s University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
